One-of-one garment. Crafted in Johannesburg. Reclaimed heritage textiles. DHL worldwide shipping

A one-of-a-kind reversible Raya shawl, handcrafted by Rayana from reclaimed sari cloth.

As founder of Sari for Change, Rayana carefully rescues treasured textiles once worn and loved, selecting fabrics for their character, softness, colour, and enduring story. Each Raya shawl is then thoughtfully handcrafted by hand, pairing contrasting textiles and giving beautiful, forgotten cloth a new life as wearable art.

This distinctive piece pairs lustrous silk with delicate chiffon. One side features a deep crimson silk, detailed with fine metallic lines and an ornate woven border in silver and gold, bringing richness and structure to the piece. The reverse reveals a sheer, softly muted chiffon with fine crimson stripes, scattered jewel-toned motifs and subtle metallic detailing.

Reversible by design, it offers two distinct moods in one: the crimson silk side feels rich and ceremonial, while the chiffon reverse is lighter and more understated, allowing its delicate woven details and translucency to come through.

Lightweight and fluid, this shawl is a unique celebration of reclaimed silk and chiffon, craftsmanship, and the stories woven into every piece. No two ever alike.

One-of-One Craftsmanship

Every Sari for Change garment is entirely one-of-one.

Crafted from reclaimed heritage textiles, each piece carries its own history, character, and unique markings. Variations in weave, embroidery, texture, colour, and minor imperfections are part of the beauty of the regenerative process and should not be considered faults.

These characteristics are a reflection of the textile's journey and make each garment impossible to replicate.
