One-of-one garment. Crafted in Johannesburg. Reclaimed heritage textiles. DHL worldwide shipping

A one-of-a-kind reversible Raya shawl, handcrafted by Rayana from reclaimed silk sari cloth.

As founder of Sari for Change, Rayana rescues treasured sari remnants once worn and loved, selecting pieces for their lustre, history, ceremonial beauty, and intricate workmanship. She then creates each Raya shawl herself - pairing contrasting silks, hand-stitching every join, and transforming forgotten fragments into something whole once more.

This shawl brings together a radiant crimson silk woven with subtle tonal checks, bordered by an elegant procession of paisley motifs upon warm ivory. The reverse reveals a softer composition of cream silk brushed with sand and blush markings, lending the piece a quieter, painterly grace. Reversible by design, it offers two expressions in one.

Shaped by Rayana’s hands from cloth that has been worn, celebrated in, carefully kept, and loved, it carries the memory of gatherings, devotion, and the enduring beauty of what is passed from one generation to the next.

Soft, luminous, and effortless to drape, no two are ever alike.

One-of-One Craftsmanship

Every Sari for Change garment is entirely one-of-one.

Crafted from reclaimed heritage textiles, each piece carries its own history, character, and unique markings. Variations in weave, embroidery, texture, colour, and minor imperfections are part of the beauty of the regenerative process and should not be considered faults.

These characteristics are a reflection of the textile's journey and make each garment impossible to replicate.
