A one-of-a-kind reversible Raya shawl, handcrafted by Rayana from reclaimed silk sari cloth.
As founder of Sari for Change, Rayana rescues treasured sari remnants once worn and loved, selecting pieces for their softness, history, and enduring beauty. She then creates each Raya shawl herself-pairing contrasting silks, hand-stitching every join, and transforming precious fragments into something whole once more.
This piece pairs a deep plum silk enriched with subtle tonal patterning, its surface shifting gently between violet and wine hues in the light. It is contrasted by a soft mauve silk reverse, smooth and understated, finished with an ornate woven border in antique gold that adds quiet intricacy. A narrow panel of warm, earthy print brings a hint of contrast and story between the two sides. Reversible by design, it offers two distinct expressions in one - rich, moody depth on one side, and calm, refined softness on the other.
